Databases are collections of resources grouped by information type or subject area. For example, the library subscribes to Standards Online, which is a database of current Standards, including a full catalogue of Australian Standards. Other databases include journal articles, maps, ebooks, statistics, news articles and videos. Here are a few key databases that may be useful to get started in your research.
- arXiv.org - Scholarly papers in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Quantitative Biology, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Electrical Engineering and Systems Science, and Economics.
- American Chemical Society - Journal articles related to various fields related to Chemistry.
- CSIRO Publishing - Australian research focussed in agriculture and environment.
- Nature - International journal publishing peer-reviewed research in all fields of science and technology.
- Nature Geoscience - Multi-disciplinary journal containing research on Earth Sciences.
- Science - Global journal of original scientific research.
- ScienceDirect - Includes scholarly articles in fields such as engineering, mathematics and computing.
- Standards Online - Comprehensive database of Australian Standards. Also includes selected standards from other sources, such as ISO.
